Hygge
A Word Poem
(hoog-uh):
A borrow-word from Danish; the feeling of coziness and contentment evoked by simple comforts, as being wrapped in a blanket, having good conversations, enjoying food, etc.
Wrap me in spices,
nutmeg and cinnamon ;
envelope my tongue,
with honey and cardamom.
Kiss all my limbs
with heat from the fire ;
warmth-touch my heart
with flute, and the lyre.
Sit me down
on cushionous clouds,
the pillows of yore,
those heavenly shrouds.
Slake my thirst,
wine heated and mulled ;
lie with me here
the sense of time dulled
as out beyond
the window-pane's frost
white dusts of icing
billow and toss.
Right here in our blankets,
all HYGGE enwrapped,
our discourse will lead
letting the world pass.

These are lovely lines:
Wrap me in spices,
nutmeg and cinnamon ;
envelope my tongue,
with honey and cardamom.
Kiss all my limbs
with heat from the fire ;
warmth-touch my heart
with flute, and the lyre.
